My research area is computational design and fabrication for robotic systems, especially in origami structure design and 2D popup systems. During my study, I found out that fabricating and manufacturing a robot is a highly complicated procedure, which requires machine collaboration as well as manual operations. I believe creating a 2D popup robot system using a two-actuated-axes machine can help to reduce the complexity of robot manufacturing thus increasing the possibility of applying the technique in real-world practice. To achieve this goal, I conducted research on fold structures via pull-up nets as well as the composite material for origami structures.
